PDN’s 30 is out

Since college I watched PDN’s 30 (previously 30 under 30) as the landmark of who to watch emerging in photography. Over the years they dropped the under 30 requirement (which was always loose anyway). I turned 30 this year, guess I still have time….

Kill some time browsing the winners and the amazing work they are producing!

One of my favorites, this Mark Fisher of Fisher Creative image: (not to be confused with any other photographers named Mark Fisher)

Miami Night Out

Going out in Miami for most people is to go to the clubs, eat at the fancy restaurants, dress up, see and be seen. Going out in my Miami is not that Miami. My Miami is dive bars, wine bars, greasy food, great ambiance, etc. Tobacco Road was one of the first bars I feel [...]

Gregory Crewdson, Brief Encounters

From the first moment I was exposed to Gregory Crewdsons work it was love. Sitting in the auditorium at Rhode Island School of Design, midway through my degree, Crewdson in an honest, brilliant speech opened my eyes to another side of photography. He was admirably honest to even the most invasive questioning (”exactly how much [...]

Glad that the fashion accessories ecommerce photography business is booming but also have to laugh a [...]

Havasupai Pictures

These are some of my favorite images taken from my trip to the Havasupai Reservation with my friend Joey in 2011. It’s a journey I highly recommend, 8 miles into part of the Grand Canyon, 3 miles to the Mooney Falls, the “mother of waters”.

Retouching for news, a big no-no

Looks like you still can’t get away with post production on news images. NPR published an article about a retouched image from Kim Jong Il’s funeral which had been retouched. Personally I think it’s a small edit on the image, not like they were trying to make the masses of mourners bigger for North Korea’s [...]

Happy holidays

December has been an insane month. Like many of my months this year, it’s one of the things I am grateful for looking back at 2011. Many new clients popped up this year and many old clients took big steps in photography. I am happy to have been able to be a part of such [...]

Eric Rutberg | Transparent

A few month back I shot Eric Rutbergs new shoe line Transparent for his website. Although it is still in beta I couldn’t resist sharing the preview I was sent. I love the way we decided to photograph his shoes. The layout looks beautiful and so are the designs on the product. Who says an [...]
