Wallpaper Wednesday

There was almost no internet where I was this week. Considering that remember, there are only so many emails you can respond to while typing on your phone (sweet, sweet, computer keyboard… I’ve missed you). So only getting to the few emails that couldn’t possibly wait I’ve been catching up all afternoon. North Carolina in June is beautiful, but you’ll have to wait till next week to see some of it. I just don’t have any shots I can have ready in time for today’s wallpaper. So instead, here is a shot from a few trips ago of the California coastline (you could pretend that lighthouse is on the Outer Banks if you like). Enjoy!

I’ve been shooting like a mad woman, which is of course making me happy. But it also makes my blog empty. So my sincere apologies for that. Traditionally this is when I can’t post anything, but today, I woke up early so I could post this weeks wallpaper Wednesday before running out the door to my next shoot. This is a shot of where I wish I were instead of a in a warehouse somewhere shooting shoes (actually, I really like shoe photography, so it’s not 100% true, I should say “this is where I wish I were going to be after I finished shooting shoes). I photographed this down in Islamorada also a couple of weeks ago. Have a great week!

Can you guess what this weeks wallpaper is? I’ll give you a hint, you’ll probably by enjoying a few of them over the Memorial Day weekend festivities…. Bottoms up!

This week the photograph for our wallpaper was taken while I was driving in the Florida Keys (Islamorada to be specific). The day was beautiful of course and dusk was no exception. This is one more reason to love the Golden Hour.

Instagram: Morning Walk

Sam and I have been really enjoying Instagram. Old news for most people but us Android owners are just getting to start playing with the app. In the mornings at the Benson Trotter house, our dog Budapest is up with the sun (sometimes slightly before it). He’s a good dog and won’t wake you up but his anticipation is in the air and besides once you crack your eyes open, if that sun has started rising, there’s a slim chance you’ll be getting back to sleep. So somewhere in this routine Sam and I started a little game where you try and sneak yourself and the dog out of the room without waking up each other. While on the walk we take pictures and post them in Facebook and/or Instagram so the other person gets to see (once they wake up that is) what they missed on the walk. It’s a cute game. Budapest makes it harder than it sounds by shaking as soon as he gets up (he’s got a very noisy collar) and rubbing his face along the bed. So we have to get him out of the room before he does that. Then when he sees you grab his leash his excitement boils over and the barking begins. I’m sure that is also a fun game for our upstairs neighbor and friend Eva. However, occasionally you do get out the door without waking your better half and get to take some pictures. This is one of mine from this morning. Sorry for the low quality, they are cell phone pictures after all. Enjoy!
